Iran has once again warned Washington against the act of blacklisting of the Revolutionary Guard, the elite soldiers of the Iranian forces.
“Whatever they do we will take reciprocal measures. All options are on the table,” Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday, Reuters reports citing ISNA news agency.
The aide to Tehran went on to accuse America of arming ISIS, an accusation that President Trump had recently made against Iran at the United Nations General Assembly.
Trump accused Iran of similar acts on other occasions as well:
“The Iranian regime supports terrorism and exports violence, bloodshed and chaos across the Middle East. That is why we must put an end to Iran’s continued aggression and nuclear ambitions,” Trump told senior US military officials on October 5th.
This news comes off the back of reports citing that Trump is keen on ending the Iran Nuclear deal, with Trump accusing Iran of violating the treaty. Reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency suggest the opposite, and say that there have been no infractions of the deal on Iran’s part. In fact, the United States may have violated the terms of the deal by pushing new sanctions on Iran, outside of the terms previously agreed upon in the original Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
