Trump Planning To Declassify JFK Files

It will likely be the day conspiracy theorists break the internet when Trump releases the classified JFK files.
On Saturday, President Trump said in a statement on his platform of choice, Twitter, that he plans to allow for the release of classified government documents related to JFK’s assassination “subject to the receipt of further information.”.
This statement comes close to a very crucial date, October the 26th of this year, the deadline of a law passed by Congress mandating the act of making these still-secret files available to the public. The mandate could only be discarded if President Trump chose to block the release.
Trump’s Tweet stated:
“Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long-blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened,”
Trump’s tweet still appeared to suggest that he might stop the release of certain documents.
A White House official made this statement to reporters: “The President believes that these documents should be made available in the interests of full transparency unless agencies provide a compelling and clear national security or law enforcement justification otherwise.”
During his campaign, Trump stated that Senator Cruz’s father was linked with Lee Harvey Oswald and the assassination.
