Ex Catalan Leader Turns Himself In To Belgian Police

The Deposed Catalan President Carles Puigdemont along with 4 former Ministers have turned themselves in to Belgian Police, according to the prosecutor’s office. The President and his Ministers fled to Belgium after the government in Madrid imposed direct rule.
This morning the five people wanted by Spain presented themselves to police in Brussels. They were put into custody at 9:17 this morning,” a spokesman for the prosecutors in Brussels stated on Sunday.
The judge will hear the people this afternoon. He has until tomorrow morning to decide.”
Puigdemont along with his Ministers will be detained for a maximum of 24 Hours Until Monday Accompanied by Lawyers.
The Ex Catalan Leader has already said that he won’t seek asylum in Belgium.
