Flooding caused by heavy rainfalls has killed at least Seven people in the Capital city of Athens in Greece. Mandra, Nea Peramos, and Megara located some 27 Km west of Athens sustained the most damage due to the flooding with some areas being inundated with more than 1m (3ft) of water.
“Everything is lost. The disaster is biblical,” Mandra Mayor Yianna Krikouki Said.
5 People have been killed in Mandra in and outside of there homes whilst another two bodies have been found on the coastline. At least another three people are missing.
The Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras has expressed his condolences.
