US Sailors In Japan Being Investigated Over Drug Dealing Charges

American Navy officers based out of Yokosuka in Japan are currently being investigated over allegations of buying, selling, and using drugs whilst on duty. The officers being investigated are sailors of the American Navy’s 7th fleet.
Speaking to The Japan Times, the spokesperson for the US Navy’s 7th Fleet, Cmdr. Clay Doss said:
“Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is investigating Yokosuka-based sailors for alleged drug use and distribution,”
“The Navy has zero tolerance for drug abuse and takes all allegations involving misconduct of our sailors, Navy civilians and family members very seriously.”
The US Navy refused to make further comments on the incident involving twelve sailors working onboard the USS Ronald Reagan Aircraft Carrier.
The officers in question were arrested last Friday over allegations of using and distributing hard-drugs such as Ecstasy and LSD.
The US Navy is also investigating local sailors in Yokosuka to determine whether the Sailors distributed the drugs to the local population. Japanese authorities have also been brought in to help with the investigation.
