Prince Harry and his future wife Meghan Markle were targeted in a suspected terror plot after a mysterious “anthrax” letter was sent to their residence at Kensington Palace. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Security has been increased around the royal couple, who are set to be married on May 19th of this year. Counter Terrorism officers are also looking into the incident in order to discover the source of the letter.
The letter contained an, at the time, unidentified white powder; said power was later tested and confirmed non-toxic by the police. The letter warned that the harmless powder contained anthrax spores, anthrax being a potentially deadly, highly infectious disease that can be contracted by touch, inhalation, ingestion, or injection.
The Metropolitan Police were alerted to the letter and were able to intercept it before it could reach the couple at there residence. Another letter was sent to the Palace of Westminster for Home Secretary Amber Rudd the following day.
The investigation is still ongoing, though no arrests have been made so far.
