Russian Plane Crash In Syria Leaves 39 Dead

A Russian military plane has crashed due to technical failure during landing procedure at the Khmeimim Airbase in Syria.
All thirty-nine people on board died in the crash. The death count included six flight crew members and another thirty-three passengers, all of whom were military personnel.
According to initial reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the crash was most probably caused by a technical malfunction, though the exact cause is unknown.
Around 15:00 (Moscow time), a Russian An-26 transport aircraft crashed while coming in for landing at the Khmeimim airbase,”  “All those on board died,” said the MoD in a statement.
According to Russian state media, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has issued his condolences after the tragedy.
