Giuliani: Trump Could Plead the Fifth Amendment

Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has claimed that there is a chance that the President could invoke his Fifth Amendment right if he testifies during the Mueller-led Russia investigation.

During an exclusive interview with George Stephanopolous on ABC news, Giuliani said:

“They don’t have a case on collision, they don’t have obstruction … I’m going to walk him into a prosecution for perjury like Martha Stewart did?” Giuliani said. “He’s the president of the United States. We can assert privilege other presidents [have].

Giuliani went on to add that Trump was ready and willing to testify in front of the special counsel, saying:

I have a client who wants to testify […] so he may testify and we may actually work things out with Bob Mueller.

However, Giuliani went on to add that he would advise caution to the President whilst confronting the charges against him. He claimed that Trump has to be cautious considering the way “They have acted

Not after the way they’ve acted,” Giuliani said about the Team investigating the Russia scandal. “I came into this case with a desire to [have Trump talk to Mueller] and they just keep convincing me not to do it.

On Friday, President Trump claimed that he would love to speak to special counsel Robert Mueller on the condition that he will be treated fairly.
