Palace Shooting In Saudi Arabia Leaves Two Dead

According to the Saudi State media, an incident at a Palace in the Kingdom left two security guards dead, and another three injured. The Interior Ministry of the Saudi Monarchy has stated that a man drove up to the Al Salam palace gates in Jeddah, and shot at security.

The suspect was quickly shot dead, but not before he killed two guards, and injured three others. The man was later identified as a Saudi national, one Mansour al-Amri.

The event has led to the US embassy issuing a formal warning and has called for a state of vigilance.

“Due to the possibility of ongoing police activity, American citizens are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the area,” the embassy said in a brief statement

Local media reported that the incident occurred around 15:15 (12:15 GMT).

No further information about the attacker or his motives is known.
